We all know the struggle of getting views on Twitch, especially if you are just getting started. Seeing channels getting partner status in less than 6 months with barely any followers on their socials. It’s pretty sus when you can’t see the data behind the scenes.

Here are a few ways that can help you get to where you want to be.

Social Media

Using Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, etc. are great ways to help bring recognition to your content and channel. Keep the content relatable to the audience you’re trying to capture along with relevant hashtags, so it shows up on people’s feeds. Keep your links consistent and up to date. A good resource for keeping links all together is using a platform similar to Link Tree, or if your good at programming, create your own.

Collab With Other Streamers

Reaching out to big streamers will be hard to do this with. What I recommend is to reach out to other small streamers who have a slightly bigger audience then you. How you would go about doing this, is sending them an inquiry to the email they have listed (if one is) or sending them a whisper or DM about doing something together. Below is an example of how you should word it, without seeming desperate or pushy.

Hi Streamer,
Your stream is great, and I noticed you play/do a lot of [Category title or stream content]. I was wondering if you'd mind taking a look at my channel.
[Insert streaming schedule and content type]
If you can, could you please give me some feedback?
Thank you,
Streamer

That’s it, really. It’s not pushy and it opens the path to a collab and a chance the streamer you’re reaching out to will raid you or want to do a collab in the future.

Niche Games

Playing oversaturated games in Twitch like League of Legends, Siege, etc. is difficult when starting out. The best option is to look through Twitch’s directory and find categories that have a high follower count but barely any streamers. I’m talking about 10 streamers or less – you want your stream to be on the front page of that category. These categories aren’t popular anymore or are no longer relevant. But there will always be people who love seeing them being played because it brings back fun and positive memories for them and seeing someone else’s experience will be fun for them too.

A great tool to help you on your quest would be Twitch Strike, as they can recommend categories that will work best for your goals.
